Uniting Two Nations, Inspiring Collaborations
Over the last 50+ years, the US-Bangladesh relationship has been an essential factor in fostering trade, education, and diplomacy, driving Bangladesh’s growth and benefiting both nations. Building on the momentum of change in 2024, the US Bangladesh United Initiative (UBUI) aims to deepen this partnership, unlocking transformative opportunities for economic, social, and cultural progress while advancing shared prosperity and development.

Why was UBUI created?
UBUI traces its roots to the July Mass Uprising of 2024, a moment that rekindled the dreams of a brighter Bangladesh. For many in the Bangladeshi diaspora in the US, it was more than a headline—it was a call to action. Conversations in living rooms and community gatherings buzzed with a shared desire: to give back and be part of the change.
From that passion, UBUI was born. It’s not just an organization; it’s a bridge. A bridge connecting the diaspora’s skills, resources, and determination with the needs of a nation ready to rise. Driven by a shared love for Bangladesh, UBUI focuses on initiatives in energy, technology, healthcare, and education.

The US Bangladesh Unity Initiative (UBUI) has taken a decisive stand against the spread of misinformation regarding minority rights in Bangladesh, launching a petition that garnered the signatures of nearly a hundred Bangladeshi-American academics, doctors, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
Addressed to the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate Foreign Affairs Committees, the petition calls for a more informed and nuanced understanding of the realities on the ground, particularly in the wake of the historic mass uprising led by Bangladesh’s youth, which successfully dismantled one of the most oppressive fascist regimes in modern history.
As the United States embarks on a new chapter under President Donald J. Trump’s leadership, UBUI extends its heartfelt congratulations to President Trump and his administration on their victory. We remain committed to working closely with U.S. policymakers to strengthen bilateral relations, foster economic partnerships, and promote a future built on shared values and mutual prosperity.
